Care & Maintenance and Warranty
The fine art of furniture making from sustainable, all natural wicker and rattan is a time honored skill that has been passed down from generations of craftsmen in the South Eastern regions of Asia where rattan is grown The individual time and pride invested in each piece along with the natural graining, color, beauty and original character that makes this hand-made furniture truly unique.
Care & Maintenance
Rattan and wicker furniture is fairly easy o maintain and should be treated as any other wood furniture. Here are some of the basic things that can keep your furniture looking like new:
Always wear eye and skin protection to prevent liquid or other materials from entering your body while performing maintenance tasks as descibed here.
Dust:
Dust buildup should be periodically removed. Using a vacuum cleaner equipped with a soft brush attachment is very effective if your furniture features rich details or wicker.
Soil or Dirt on Finish:
If you see that there is dirt or a stain of some kind on the rattan or wicker frame of your furniture, you should first use Murphy’s Oil Soap® or similar product and a soft rag to try and remove the soiling. If this is not effective, a clean rag with acetone, fine grit steel wool or sandpaper may be used. When using acetone, fine grit sand paper or steel wool, proceed slowly being careful not to remove the finish.
Soil or Dirt on Finish:
If you wish to polish your rattan furniture, any over the counter wood polish such as Pledge® or Old English® may be used. Simply follow the instructions provided on the bottle.
