Cushioned Resin Wicker Patio Furniture
Care & Maintenance and Warranty
Resin Wicker has become very popular in recent years. This furniture is typically hand-made in the same facilities as real wicker and rattan. The frames of these pieces are constructed of various types of resin that mimic the look of natural wicker and rattan but are made to resist moisture, UV light and other elements that would be harmful to natural materials.
Care & Maintenance
Resin Wicker patio furniture should last a long time and with proper maintenance, even longer! Here are some of the basic things that can keep your furniture looking like new:
Always wear eye and skin protection to prevent liquid or other materials from entering your body while performing maintenance tasks as descibed here.
Cushions & Fabrics:
Spot wash the fabric to clean spills by using a sponge or soft bristle brush with a soapy solution of mild detergent and warm water. Brush or sponge the soiled area and rinse thoroughly with fresh water. Allow the cushions to air dry and repeat as necessary.
If cushions are exposed to a soaking rain or the cores become wet, it is best to stand the wet cushions on end. This will allow the cushion cores to dry more quickly reducing the chance of mold or mildew growth.
Resin Wicker Frames:
To remove stubborn dirt or stains from the frame or heavy soiling that has accumulated over time, clean the furniture with warm soapy water and use a soft bristle brush if needed.
DO NOT USE SOLVENTS, AEROSOL CARBON TETRACHLORIDE, SCOURING AGENTS, JANITORIAL CLEANSERS, GASOLINE, METAL OR HARD PLASTIC BRUSHES. Harsh cleaners and brushes can break down the wicker and possibly cause the frames to become tacky or sticky.
DO NOT USE A PRESSURE WASHER TO CLEAN YOUR FURNITURE. IT WILL VOID MOST FACTORY WARRANTIES. The force of the compressed water can damage or remove the finish and could harm the fabric. Tossing the patio furniture in a freshly treated pool IS NOT recommended. This can cause long term problems for both your furniture and your pool!
